Why custom orthotic therapy?
Because everyone is unique in their biomechanical needs. If you are experiencing any of the following conditions, orthotic therapy may be right for you.
Although the word "orthotic" has become a generic term for anything with arch support you put into a shoe, Orthotic Therapy remains so much more. Skilled observation, measurement, and application are key components to Orthotic Therapy. An orthotic is what you might attempt in search of some pain relief. Orthotic Therapy insures specific therapeutic results.
Orthotic Therapy first begins with an assessment of your foot posture and motions and how they are affecting your ankles, knees, hips and spine. If it is determined that you do have a mechanical problem such as "flat feet" or "high arched" feet that is causing pain or dysfunction, the therapist will then take a neutral position "slipper cast" of your feet. Based on your symptoms and clinical measurements our therapists will order a customized pair of orthotics to be fabricated to fit your needs.
Not all orthotics are bulky, heavy, or expensive. You may be prescribed orthotics that are shoe specific (high heels, dress shoes, boots, athletic shoes) or activity specific (soccer, skiing, cycling, jumping, etc.) and we have 2 types of orthotics to fit your budget.
